Nov. 9 2009 We would like to thank those of you that came out for our first winter race series. The weather was great and the turnout was good. We had a chance to run some new class structures and some new ideas for the series. The MINI PRO race went off great with the super pole for qualifying, and Mr. Grant himself grabbing the spot on a loaner bike from his wife. There was 5 bikes in the premiere class and it paid out a total of $400 cash to the top three. Keep in mind that the purse will grow with more entries in the class. You can expect more good things to come from this class.
One of the new classes we are trying to build for next year is the STOCK THUNDER class which is made up of ttr 125, xr 100, and Drz 125. this class is stock motors and minor mods. I have great expectations for this class In the series I am doing next year ,there will be no slicks in this class and you will be able to change the front rim to a 16 in.This class will be a speck tire class for next year with tire contingency and a pay out for the top 3 in class. This is good cheep racing,if you are interested in building a bike for the near future get a hold of the track for the details.
Congratulations to the ticket winning racers that won the free track days. Each race weekend we are going to give away some type of prize, not to be announced till after the awards on Sun.We are also taking the points from the top three in each class and putting that total into a drawing at the end of the season for items from our sponsors. Such as gloves, boots, helmets, leathers and one free racing for the next season.
I am very confident that this series can and will grow to one of the best series on the East coast . It is my personal goal to make sure that everyone leaves with a smile on their face knowing they had a good time.I also would like to thank my staff and the other clubs that helped make this happen.
After looking at the books and finding out that we are able to lower the cost of the first race entry and still cover our over head cost to run the event. Starting in Dec the entry fees for the first race will be $40. Lets not forget if you sign up for three races with the program we run including the heats you get six races for the price of three.
Stay tuned or come out and watch the action, lets see if the all mighty # 99 Mr. Kenny can hold off the young fearless hard charging lion # 1 Gavin herrin in the tied points chase.
Nov. 22 2009 We are hosting a track day at the new kart track at CMP. this is a non profit event and the fees will go direct to the track, its $40 to ride and $10 for your wristbands.( per the last conversation I had with the track) I'm sure this track will be put on someones schedule for 2010 so please come out and show your support. The track is going to observe this weekend to see if the turnout will be there or not to give up a karting weekend for us . Remember we are mighty in # s.
Dec.5-6 2009 Round two under the books at MGKT WINTER SERIES. We would like to thank the riders that returned for round # 2 and also to the new riders that showed up for their first time.I would also like to thank the ones that helped make this race go on without any delays through the weekend. The weekend started out on Sat with a 70% chance of showers and cold, turns out from 10 am on through the day it was completely dry.The temps were ideal for riding,as I turned a few laps myself working up a good sweat each time. Returning back to our regular schedule Sat open practice we ran two practice groups.[ MINI & SM ] Everyone got in plenty of seat time as usual. Some riders got a chance to use their FREE TRACK DAY certificates won at the last round of racing.Sat nite camp fire was a treat to those that stayed around to comfort themselves after a hard day of riding.Sunday morning rolled around and open practice was extended to 12 noon to let things warm up a bit and after a short lunch break we did the heats to determine the main. The racing was close in all classes and everyone had a great time. One of the new classes we tried was SM NO JUMPS for big bikes to day view our new 250 F RR Bike Zach won the class on it with Josh Herrin taking a close second. The bike was just on rails, giving the SM bikes a hard fought battle for the win.We are sorry to announce # 99 King Kenny was knocked off his thrown this weekend by the young lion Gavin Herrin for the clubs over all points lead. Not by Kenny's choice though he was plagued by a series of mechanical problems.I'm sure he will be back to attempt to re gain his lead.We would like to thank Lucas & Casey for traveling from far upstate on the east coast to race, when all other clubs shut down for the season. Our goal for the WINTER RACE SERIESis to provide riders a place to continue to ride in their off season. All are welcome to attend. As promised this weekend we gave away the third race free to every entries for the holidays. Along with two free track days and two free race entries to the next events. As the series continues to grow we will be able to give back to the riders more each time. Its just our way to give back to the sport.

Jan 11 2010 Well the first race of the 2010 season was a chili one with record breaking temps in the south and I don't mean warm ones.I would like to thank those dedicated racers that did show, although a light turn out it was still some fun racing. The HW SPEC class was on fire as usual with an upset 1/3 of the way through the race Sr. Hancho crashed out of the lead with # 38 & #1 hot on his heals. The pressure was on for the the class lead in points with one more race to go, who will come out on top.So remember to finish first first you must finish ( words from the wise ) UPDATE STOCK THUNDER CLASS We will be offering a 50% payback to the top 5 in class, to qualify you must comply to the rules in that class. We will allow other bikes to ride with the class but to get points or $ you must have a legal bike for the class. If there is any questions please contact the track. This is the time to get your bikes ready for the 2010 SUMMER SERIES.
Jan 11 2010 We will have a total of three $$$ paying classes for the 2010 SUMMER SERIES These classes will cost $50 to enter and we will be offering a 50% payback to the top 5 in class STOCK THUNDER, MINI PRO, and SUPERMOTO OPEN NO JUMPS.The MINI PRO and SUPERMOTO class will be gridded biased on super pole times.Instead of a qualifying race each rider will get his chance to do one fly-er lap solo to determine their spot on the grid.If you crash you start on the back row.The STOCK THUNDER class will have a regular heat and main for the race.We are not trying to re invent the wheel just trying to be a little diff, always remembering to have fun.Yet at the same time give back to the racer. Please E-MAIL us on your thoughts for these classes.
Jan 26 2010 NEW SCHOOL/DEMO BIKES We are one step closer to getting some school bikes for the track. These bikes will also be available to rent for a demo rideon one of our open track days. The goal is to reach out to the new riders and help our sport flourish. It is also a way for riders to brush up on some new riding technical. The bikes will be sold at the end of each race season for a very affordable price to those looking to get into the sport at an entry level. These are just some of the ideas we have to help this track develop into a full service facility. As the project goes on we will keep you informed.

Feb 8 2010 CLASS CHAMPS WINTER RACE SERIES We would like to thank all the racers that came out for the winter race series. It brought many new faces to the sport. We had a total of 16 new riders at the last event alone.this tells us that we are doing the rite thing and the sport is growing. This helped us in designing a platform for the 2010 SUMMER SERIES RACES.We created some new and fun classes ,and some to put some cash back into your pockets. This series is an important tool for the youth of the racing community, and with out it or the crafty veteran's to teach them the sport will continue to stagnate.I feel it is our job to provide a safe fun place for everyone to ride.

March 8 2010 MINI RACER WINSDAYTONA 200 It just goes to show that just because you are a Mini Racer that you cant do big things. The proof is in the pudding, meaning that Mini Racing is truly the grass roots of racing. It is a very important tool to learn at such young ages.I am not saying that every rider will make it to the top but anything is possible if you put your mind to it. With the proper tools anything is possible. Not only has Josh Herrin made it to the top level of racing in the US but he has two younger brothers right behind him.Zach Herrin at age 14 has already made negotiations to ride a Graves Factory prepped 600 in the WERA National series for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. MGKT is a proven grooming facility to bring out the best in each and every rider. Not only do we have the track but we offer riding schools as well.If you don't have a bike we can point you in the direction you need to go or we will build you one custom to your fit.
